Scholarship Programs:
The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children (SFIC)
The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children is a nonsectarian, nonreligious scholarship organization providing scholarships for low-income students attending Catholic schools in Essex, Hudson, Bergen, and Union Counties. The fund also operates programs in Jersey City, Newark, and Elizabeth that offer scholarships to any private school in the area.

Charter and Magnet Schools:
New Jersey Charter Schools
Charter schools are publicly funded schools that are exempt from certain state mandates, but held accountable to other bodies. They are tuition-free, like traditional public schools, but often offer special programs (such as an intensive language-learning program) that public schools do not.

New Jersey Magnet Schools
Magnet schools are public schools that offer a specialized curriculum, whether it be in science, the performing arts, or engineering, amongst other subjects. Unlike charter schools, which are independent from local school boards, magnet schools are held accountable to their local school districts.
