OVERVIEW OF SEMINAR – What the Seminar is about

This first meeting will seek to engage in a dialog with the legislators about the political and financial implication of supporting parental choice. Hispanic CREO wants to provide participants with information, research and nationwide efforts on parental choice.

Over a two-day period, the legislators will:

Learn more about education reform movements – charter, voucher and tax credit;

Be briefed on the latest research and its impact for Latinos;

• Gain information on the bipartisan efforts of the parental choice movement;

Hear and understand case studies from their respective states; Explore the reasons for growing the parental movement toward choice; and

Be empowered to make more informed decisions, as parental choice becomes a topic in their state.

Ultimately, the goal will be to dispel the myths surrounding parental choice, so that legislators will be able to make more informed decisions, as parental choice becomes a topic in their state.
